We will physically print samples on our variety of machines to get the closest possible match available at the time.

This will inccur an additional cost of £ 50

Instructions for Matching a colour

Simply provide us with the Pantone number of the colour required, and we will achieve the closest match possible to this using our latest printers and colour software.

It is also possible to closely match from hard copy documents such as letterheads or brochures.

Please be aware that there are many different set up values to achieve colours in todays workplace.

The variations in colour formats/setups such as RGB, CMYK, RAL colours, pantone colours, dye-sublimation colours etc. all produce differing colour values and finishes.

If you pair this with an array of media such as paper, plastic, wood, material, canvas, gloss polyester and you have an almost unlimited combination of colour facets and finishes.

Limitations of Colour Matching

All print studios will have limitations with rgard to colour matching a previous colour print due to a wide variety of factors. These are explained below:

1. The Graphic designer's original files and PDF's: The colour profile they have allocated to the job may change or even the use of different designers/agencies to generate the new graphics.

2. The software used: This could be anything from Indesign, Quark Xpress, Illustrator or even Photoshop.Bear in mind that when this software is updated to a new version, the colour profiles can change.

3. POD's design software updates...we constantly spend upgrading our software with the industry standards..

4. The Large Format Printer Rips/Colour profiles that convert the files to print are updated/reprofiled for different medias on a regular basis and this can change the colour output over time.

5. The Large Format printers are updated. new printers are purchased to replace older versions. e.g our printers with 8 colour inks replaced 6 colour smaller production printers.

6. The media/material we print onto changes: This can be discontinued by material suppliers or coated differently without notice by the manufacturer.

7. The protective seal we use can change: again this can vary from batch to batch both in texture and sheen down to the manufacturers.

To illustrate this point:
If you bought wallpaper or ceramic tiles, the manufacturer always states that you should buy from the same batch number as they may not be able to guarantee a match on the colour or the finish in the future.
