The designers working with the British Cycling Federation had seen the Design Ideas Library on the POD Exhibition Systems web site.
Based on one of these design ideas, they asked us to supply a proposal for a new exhibition stand for the British Cycling Federation.
This would be used at trade fairs, public exhibitions & Velodromes to promote membership of the federation and to sell branded merchandise
From basic sketches supplied, a design was drawn up featuring the Metro modular aluminium system, as this range incorporates matching portable counters
The design brief stated that a lockable storage area was required as well as a section of the stand that could incorporate shelving for the merchandise
The front reception counter had to be portable, and be reconfigurable at various forthcoming events
A final design was drawn up for approval, prompting a cost exercise to fit a very limited budget.
Once the quotation had been authorised, production could start to manufacture the elements of the stand, whilst the artwork for the printed graphics was being prepared
The final stand was constructed as a pre-build exercise at the offices of the British Cycling Federation next to the Manchester Velodrome.
On final sign-off the completed stand was re-packed ready for shipment to the newly constructed Olympic Velodrome for the first event at the official opening.
The client was delighted with the practicality of the stand and the positive response from visitors at each event.
Membership of the federation has tripled this year, and we like to think that in some way, the new stand has played a part in this success
