Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains are a regular client of POD Exhibition Systems. We had previously supplied them with a range of illuminated acrylic plinths for displaying engines and engine components.
We were asked to provide a portable solution, using a truss system which reflected the structure on the outside of the Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains headquarters at Brixworth and gave a hi-tech mechanical look to the stand, without overpowering the engines and KERS systems
During a meeting at Brixworth, the project was discussed at length and a new aluminium truss system was proposed with acrylic tops and locking castors beneath a heavy MDF base
A final design was agreed whereby 2 truss plinths and 3 tops gave all the options required.
The branded acrylic tops were protected with a clear cover plate which could be replaced, as wear was likely from the display items.
The trusses were powder coated and the bases spayed with a black Hammerite finish
These would all be housed in a set of purpose-built polypropylene wheeled cases, designed specifically for ease of transportation and safe storage
The client was involved at every stage of the design and approval of the components as they were manufactured to ensure corporate approval.
The finished plinths were delivered to the company headquarters, where they were received with enthusiasm by the team involved in the display events
